My Progress

Practicing the universal Loving Kindness meditation exercise, gave me a great feeling of how capable I can be of helping others especially the ill. After practicing this meditation, I called my ex-mother in law and offered to help because I know she is very sick. I cannot help everyone that is sick but I can certainly do little things for the ill that can put a smile on their faces. After speaking with my ex-mother in law I stopped by with a bowl of soup and sat with her for a couple of hours; I know this made her feel good just to have someone talk to her.
After completing the Integral Assessment, I discovered that out of the 4 quadrants, I need to work more in the psychospiritual. As of now, I am still working towards getting a witnessing mind. I have been having a hard tome quieting my mind. My goal is to reach the level of unity consciousness. I believe this is the most important quadrant, once I reach my goal, the development on the rest of the quadrants will improve. The way to reach my goal is by practicing meditation, no matter how difficult is it I need to keep trying.

  1. That was a wonderful thing you did for your ex-mother in law! I'm sure you made her week. Little acts of kindness like that make such a difference in someone's life, and it's so simple for us to do.
Mediation is definitely difficult, I am the same as you, my mind just won't shut up and even if I do get it to be still, I get itchy, and the more I try to ignore it, the more itchy I get! I guess it just takes practice, a lot of practice ;-)
    Good luck!

  2. Zully, what you did for your ex-mother in law was really sweet, and as Andie said you probably did make her week. When using the integral assessment I found that I need to develop the interpersonal area of my life more than the others, and i would say it is Interpersonal first, Worldly and Psychospiritual tie for second, and Biological would be last. My goal is also to reach unity consciousness, and as distracted as my mind has been it will be a long time coming but worth it. We're all in this together and we all strive for this everyday, those of us who are practicing to get there and those of us who simply hope to find it as life happens. You make an excellent point that developing the psychospiritual quadrant will enable the other 3 quadrants to develop and flourish - maybe that's where I should star as well. : )
